How Can We Help?
Most-requested resident actions.
Quick paths to the things our neighbors ask about every week. If you don’t see what you need, our contact team is one tap away.
Kane County requires building permits for many types of construction including additions, finishing spaces in basements and attics, porches, decks, gazebos, pools, residing, and reroofing. It is your responsibility to check with Kane County if a permit is required for your project, and if it is, apply for and obtain the required permits before starting your project. As review and approvals may take several weeks, it is recommended that you obtain any required permits before ordering materials or scheduling work. If you have questions, please call 630-232-3485.

What the SSA Maintains
Three core responsibilities.
Mill Creek SSA’s scope is intentionally narrow. We focus on shared infrastructure within the public right-of-way — the things that keep the neighborhood looking and feeling like Mill Creek.
1. Parkway Tree Maintenance
The SSA inspects, prunes, and removes dead or diseased trees in the public parkway strip — the area between sidewalk and street. Replacement plantings follow Kane County’s parkway tree program.
2. Public Sidewalks
Sidewalk panels within the public parkway are SSA-maintained. Private walks, driveways, and patios remain the homeowner’s responsibility.
3. Street & Entrance Lighting
Report dark or flickering streetlights and neighborhood entrance lights. We coordinate repair with ComEd and our lighting contractor.
